THE CAMBRIDGE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
Picture
The Cambridge Charitable Foundation states that its “primary goal is to use the power of philanthropy to change people’s lives and to improve our communities.”  The Foundation has provided vital support to Assistance League programs for the past several years through grants from two different funds.

•The Abbihl-Ahrens Charitable Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation supports the New Beginnings Kits program for women and their children leaving a shelter for a safe home.  This year, the Abbihl-Ahrens Fund provided a generous grant that will help transform the lives of women and children who have been the victims of domestic violence or abuse by giving them the essential items they need to establish an independent household away from their abusers.

•The Bernadine and Edwin Light Charitable Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation supports Operation School Bell® which provides new school clothes for children in need.  This year, the Light Fund provided a generous grant to give children living in poverty access to the clothing they need to attend school and enjoy a positive and productive school experience.
WILLIAM R. DALLY FOUNDATION
The William R. Dally Foundation has a history of supporting charitable organizations that provide educational and other assistance to needy children and families in the greater Cincinnati area.  In particular, the Dally Foundation has long been a faithful supporter of Assistance League programs.  This year, the Dally Foundation’s very generous unrestricted grant will provide vital support to Operation School Bell®, College Starter Kits, Assault Survivor Kits®, Domestic Violence Kits and New Beginnings Kits and make an ongoing positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and adults in the local community.
CHARLES H. DATER FOUNDATION

“Enriching the Lives of Children,”the motto of the Charles H. Dater Foundation, speaks loudly about the Dater Foundation’s impact on the lives of the greater Cincinnati area’s children.  It provides financial support to “projects that benefit young people and focus in the areas of arts/culture, education, healthcare, social services and other community needs.”  The Dater Foundation has supported Operation School Bell® for many years.  Its support has been crucial to the development, growth and success of the program.  This year, the Dater Foundation awarded Operation School Bell® a very generous grant. Because of this exceptional gift, the program will be able to expand its services to provide school clothing to even more economically disadvantaged children.
THE CAROL ANN AND RALPH V. HAILE, JR./U.S. BANK FOUNDATION
Picture
An independent family foundation, the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation is “vigilant about helping to meet basic human needs in the community and aiding families to attain economic stability.”  The Haile Foundation has for a number of years provided financial support for the Assault Survivor Kits® and Domestic Violence Kits programs that provide clothing and hygiene kits to victims of assault and domestic abuse. The Haile Foundation has also provided ongoing support for the New Beginnings Kits program that supplies women and their children with essential household items so that they can establish an independent living situation away from their abuser as well as funds for the College Starter Kits program that furnishes economically disadvantaged youth and adults necessary supplies to continue their education.  In addition, the Haile Foundation has provided invaluable assistance in helping the Assistance League establish our newest program, the Kinship Foster Care program, to provide needed age appropriate clothing items and diapers to children and their relatives who are enrolled in a kinship foster care program.  This year, the Haile Foundation awarded a very generous grant to the Domestic Violence Kits, New Beginnings Kits, College Starter Kits and Kinship Foster Care programs thereby continuing to support adults and children in crisis and to respond to their critical needs due to violence and trauma in their lives and to enable them to achieve a better future through higher education.

CHARLOTTE R. SCHMIDLAPP FUND, FIFTH THIRD BANK, TRUSTEE

The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee states that its funds are designated specifically to support initiatives to benefit women and girls. This year, the Fund has provided a very generous grant to the Assault Survivor Kits® program.  This program supplies new clothing and personal hygiene items to victims of assault and rape as they leave the hospital following a forensic medical examination and treatment.  The examination often requires victims to surrender clothing worn at admittance as evidence necessary for successful prosecution.  These kits help restore a sense of dignity and self-worth to traumatized individuals, provide some degree of comfort, and assist victims in their journey toward recovery.

THE SPAULDING FOUNDATION

The Spaulding Foundation is recognized for its continuing commitment to improve life for the most vulnerable members of the greater Cincinnati community in the areas of education and health and human services by supporting programs that provide care for women and children who have experienced violence or abuse.  This year, the Spaulding Foundation has given a very generous grant to support the Domestic Violence Kits program that provides clothing and hygiene kits to victims of assault and domestic abuse and to the New Beginnings Kits program that provides essential household items to women and their children seeking to establish an independent household away from their abusers.
WOODWARD TRUST
Picture
The Woodward Trust and the Assistance League share a common mission “to improve the quality of education and life for Cincinnati’s school-aged children.” The continuing financial support of the Woodward Trust provides new school clothes for some of the neediest children through Operation School Bell®.  This year, the Woodward Trust awarded a very generous grant for this program.  These funds have allowed the program to outfit more school children at schools throughout the community and to make a significant difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.
