Our 2024 Event
The Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati hosted its 18th Annual Books & Brunch fundraiser at Kenwood Country Club on May 7th. The 200+ attendees, and many generous sponsors, supported a silent auction, a variety of raffle baskets, a wine pull, and split the pot to help raise $50,000.
This signature event invites local authors to speak about their most recent books. This year's presenting authors included Loren Long, #1 New York Times bestselling author, Rick Pender, a veteran Cincinnati journalist/author, Jenn Bishop, Parents' Choice Gold Award winner, and Heather Webber, a twice Agatha Award nominee.
The Bookshelf in Madeira provided attendees the opportunity to purchase books, for the authors to sign, and contributed 20 percent of sales toward the fundraiser.
For 26 years, Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati volunteers have served the unmet needs of adults and children in the community. The all-volunteer organization provides clothing and supplies to those in need by working closely with Greater Cincinnati area schools, colleges, hospitals, and women's shelters. Operation School Bell is one of Assistance League's largest initiatives, providing school clothing to local students since 1998.
